Barcelona cyclist Guim Valls Teruel is ready to an unprecedented adventure: a tour around the world on an electric bicycle, "an alternative and environmentally friendly means of transportation, a new way of travelling using clean sources and a move forward to abandon the conventional combustion processes".

He aims to cover 5 continents joining with his electric bicycle the olympic cities of Beijing 2008 with London 2012, also visiting candidate Madrid 2016, combining the ideas of sport and environment.

According to Guim, "the electric bicycle is the most common transportation in China after the bicycle. It does not pollute nor makes any noise, and has a maximum speed of 30mph. Besides pedalling, the battery itself can travel for around 40 miles".

It is basically a bicycle with an electric engine to help its advance. It has gears, and the energy comes from a lithium-ion battery that has to be plugged to the electric mains, and charges in a few hours. He will also use solar power for the lightning and battery charge.
